While Electrical Marketing’s editors were updating our database of construction projects with an estimated total construction value of more than $100 million, we were struck by how many office projects are underway or in the pipeline.
These projects ranged from big new offices in Boston for Google and Amazon to a $450 million renovation of the 52-story Dallas First National Bank building. Another big office project is the $500 million Harvest Properties/Invesco Real Estate office complex in Sunnyvale, CA.
Several other construction projects caught our eye. While we have reported on quite a few light-rail projects in cities across the United States, Florida is seeing lots of action in some longer distance rail projects, including the Virgin Trains USA project from the Orlando airport to South Florida that just broke ground, and the previously announced Brightline projects being planned between Orlando and Tampa and Orlando and Miami.
