ELA + Synergy expands Lutron territory into New York metro
It's not unusual for independent reps to quietly fine-tune their line cards, but every once in a while a line change comes along that dramatically affects a local market.
That's the case with the recent news effective Sept. 1 that Fairless Hills, PA, will represent Lutron Electronics in the New York metro area, Long Island and northern New Jersey markets. This includes the electrical distribution, lighting showroom, commercial integrator and commercial window systems sales channels.
A post at Inside Lighting said ELA + Synergy will be replacing Thea Enterprises, Clifton, NJ, which represented and built the Lutron business in this market for more than 31 years.
An ElA + Synergy announcement on the expansion in market coverage said in part, “Our relationship with Lutron began in Philadelphia in 2010. For more than 15 years, ELA + Synergy has proudly represented Lutron in southern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware —customer relationships. We’re expanding our team’s resources to ensure a seamless transition for customers in New York, Long Island and northern New Jersey.
RB Sales/Electris360 expands Southwire territory representation
Electris360, through its RB Sales division based in Hiawatha, IA, is expanding its manufacturers’ representative partnership with Southwire into eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. This expansion is a natural evolution of RB Sales’ long-standing presence in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and other parts of Illinois, as major distributors have steadily grown their footprints across these markets. Southwire has been a foundational partner to RB Sales for more than 20 years.
Rep Materials Co. and Ewing-Foley to share Houston facility
Electrical manufacturer Rep Materials Company (RMC) and Ewing-Foley Inc. (EFI), an independent manufacturers rep, have expanded operations in a new, state-of-the-art facility in northeast Houston, TX. They plan to deliver electrical and data products, technical product and application support, advanced manufacturing and value-add services from one central location.
According to the press release, the expansion reinforces the companies' long-term investment in the Gulf Coast. The facility builds on Ewing-Foley's recent entry into the rep warehousing services business. Ewing-Foley will initially stock a broad complement of wire and cable products and anticipates expanding the model with additional manufacturers’ product lines.
“Today’s large projects demand speed, scale and flexibility,” said Gary Lessing, CEO of EFI in the press release. “With many of our customers now requiring global project support, EFI is uniquely positioned to deliver added value to the entire supply chain.”
For Rep Materials Co., the move represents a strategic leap forward. “We were looking for a facility to scale our manufacturing and logistics capabilities,” said Dan Markus, founder and president of RMC, in the release. “As a domestic manufacturer that also leverages global supply chains, proximity to major ports, rail and a central U.S. location was essential. Sharing the facility with our rep partner EFI was a natural fit. Their wire and cable portfolio complements our offering and creates a more streamlined, synergistic solution for our customers.”
“What we are building is truly unique in the industry,” said EFI's Lessing. “This facility brings together complementary electrical and data products, full manufacturing capabilities, 3PL services and comprehensive technical support, all under one roof.”
