EIS, the Electrical/Electronic Materials Group under Genuine Parts Co., has acquired Empire Wire & Supply, a distributor of electrical, network, automation and safety cabling based in Rochester Hills, MI. Terms of the deal, which took effect April 1, were not disclosed.
Empire has locations in Grand Rapids, MI, Cincinnati, OH, and Mississauga, ON, in addition to its Rochester Hills headquarters. It is expected to generate annual revenues of approximately $65 million, Genuine Parts said in a release.
“Empire is a leading distributor of cabling and automation solutions as well as custom cable assemblies. Empire complements the Wire and Cable business at EIS and further strengthens our overall capabilities to serve the industrial robotic and automation markets,” Paul Donahue, GPC’s president and CEO, said. “Their talented team has built a great business, which we intend to grow together, and we are pleased to welcome them to the EIS and GPC family.”
