City Electric, Syracuse, N.Y., is reported to have acquired VanNess Co., a one-location electrical distributor in Potsdam, N.Y. The local news outlet North Country Now reports that VanNess, owned since 1996 by Steve Warr and John Fries, will enhance City’s coverage of the “North Country” region of upstate N.Y.

The VanNess partners will keep their Speed Queen washer/dryer sales and coin-op laundry operations, according to the North Country Now story. City Electric, a woman-owned business led by Sandy Rosencrans, stood at No. 128 on the 2013 Electrical Wholesaling Top 200 list. At the time of that list last June, City Electric had six locations staffed by 93 people.
