PEARL named ANSI standards developer

Sept. 17, 2013
The Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL), Aurora, Colo., has been approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an Accredited Standards Developer for technical reconditioning standards for electrical equipment.

In its ongoing bid to establish reliable standards for the electrical products aftermarket, the Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL), Aurora, Colo., announced that it has been approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an Accredited Standards Developer.

ANSI's decision comes nearly two years after PEARL created its first ANSI committee and began the application process to gain accreditation with the goal of promoting a single set of consensus technical standards for reconditioning electrical equipment used in industrial and commercial installations and accepted by a pool of industry professionals and stakeholders, PEARL said in a release.

PEARL Executive Director Mark Stone said he encourages anyone in the electrical industry with relevant expertise and interest in volunteering their time to help create an ANSI standard focused on electrical reconditioning to contact PEARL's offices by email at [email protected] or phone at 877-AT-PEARL (877-287-3275).
