Electrical Marketing's Electrical Price Index (EPI) rose 0.3 percent for June. The index posted price gains in 12 categories and decreases in eight; eight product categories held steady this time.
Building wire and cable posted the biggest gain (1.3 percent) followed by boxes and appliances (both 1.2 percent). Power wire and cable posted the biggest decrease (1.2 percent).
Note: All EPI series represent DRI/WEFA aggregates of Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) producer price indices (PPIs). The revised data partly reflect redefinitions of specific PPIs by the BLS, but mostly reflect the rebenchmarking of all EPI price series to a 1987 base year. The four following EPI series have been affected by BLS redefinitions: boxes, conduit (fittings), nonmetallic conduit, and generators.
