Tycoon Turner Sees $$$ in Solar

Ted Turner is never afraid to go all-in on big bets, whether it be raising bison, launching CNN or owning the Atlanta Braves baseball team. According to a recent report in the Atlanta Business Journal,his latest venture is joint project with the Southern Co. electric utility to build a 30MW solar plant that will supply power to 9,000 homes in New Mexico. Expected to be complete by year-end, the project will use 500,000 First Solar 2x4 thin-film PV panels. Atlanta Business Journal
