Quanta to install fiber-optic cable for North Carolina communications network

An article in the Triangle Research Journal said Quanta Services ( PWR), Houston, will be one of two companies installing approximately 200 miles of fiber-optic cable for a communications network that will link schools, universities and research facilities in western North Carolina. North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN) is being funded in part by $28.2 million in federal stimulus money.
