US Electrical Services (USESI), Hartford, Conn., one of CED’s operating companies, has acquired Warren Electric Supply, Queensbury, N.Y., an eight-location distributor with more than $20 million in sales. Warren Electric’s CEO Jerry Nudi was represented in the transaction by Randy Kuchenmeister of Electrical Distributor Consulting, Shelby Township, Mich. The acquisition closed on July 30. Warren Electric Supply has eight locations throughout upstate New York in Gloversville, Kingston, Latham, Plattsburgh, Poughkeepsie, Queensbury, Saratoga and Troy. The Queensbury and Saratoga locations have residential lighting showrooms.

While CED doesn’t comment on its internal operations or expansion plans, it’s safe to say that the acquisition adds to USESI’s position as one of the largest regional distributors in the eastern United States. According to data on the websites of USESI’s operating companies, with the addition of the Warren Electric Supply branches, USESI will have in total well over 70 branches.

Warren Electric Supply’s territory is adjacent to several of USESI’s other operating companies, including Electrical Wholesalers (Connecticut); Standard Electric (Massachusetts); and Hampden/Zimmerman (Massachusetts). USESI also has locations in the Philadelphia market (Fox Electric Supply); suburban New Jersey (Monarch Electric and Rahway Electric); Long Island, N.Y. (Duplex Electrical); Washington, D.C. (Maurice Electrical Supply); and Atlanta (Danlar Lighting and Distribution).
