Gary Miller, president of Border States, retires

Miller has been with Border States since 1979 and president of the company since 2006.
Super-regional electrical products distributor Border States Electric, Fargo, N.D., announced that Gary Miller, the company's president since 2006, retired last month, effective date Apr. 1, 2014. He remains on the company's Board of Directors.

Miller was hired in 1979 for a position in BSE’s accounting department. He went on to serve in a variety of positions at the branch and corporate levels, and was named to BSE’s Executive Council in 1997 before joining the Board of Directors in 2005. In Jan. 2006, he was named president. During his time as president, the company grew from a $450 million company to a $1.4 billion company.

“I feel privileged to have worked alongside so many great people throughout my career and blessed to have experienced such a successful career,” Miller said. “I will greatly miss my fellow employee-owners. We have tremendous talent and dedication on the leadership team and that makes it easy to leave, knowing the company and employee-owners are in such good hands.”
