EIS Inc., Atlanta, has formed the Genuine Cable Group (GCG) from three specialty wire companies it has acquired over the past few years — Seacoast, Cobra Wire & Cable and ElectroWire. GCG will bring the identity of the EIS specialty wire & cable companies into one group. GCG will serve the telecommunication, datacom, industrial, transportation, military, marine and energy markets. EIS, a subsidiary of the publicly held distributor Genuine Parts Co., acquired ElectoWire earlier this year;  Cobra Wire & Cable in 2011; and Seacoast in 2010.

Peter Sheehan, the president of Genuine Cable Group, said in the press release announcing the move, “The combined strengths of Seacoast, Cobra Wire & Cable and Electro Wire will benefit every niche market we serve. The recent acquisition of Electro Wire enhances our talent pool and logistical scale, expanding our footprint in cable, connectivity and the assembly markets.”
