Lighting manufacturer Nicor, Albuquerque, N.M., said Doug Welter has joined their team as chief operating officer. Welter brings over 30 years of business, operations, and technology experience from the semiconductor, electronics and equipment manufacturing industries. He has a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and did graduate work at Arizona State University.

“The Lighting Industry is entering a truly revolutionary transformation into Solid State Lighting,” said Rocklan Lawrence, president/CEO. “Nicor will be leveraging Mr. Welter's vast technology and operations experience to do just that, by helping us to bring new LED lighting products to market.”
