Construction Project Update — 1Q 2019

Among the bigger projects hitting the drawing boards or breaking ground this quarter are several mixed-use developments over a billion dollars.

The latest gathering of major projects from throughout the United States includes several billion-dollar projects planned or getting underway. Among the bigger ones are mixed-use developments in Bridgeport, CT, Washington, DC, Shreveport, LA, Lewiston, TN, and White Plains, NY. The largest mixed-use project that recently got underway was the second phase of The Wharf, the largest construction project currently underway in Washington, DC. It's valued at $2.2 billiion and is located in southwestern section of the city. According to developer Hoffman-Madison Waterfront, "At full build out, Phase 2 of The Wharf will complete the remaining 1.25 million square feet of new mixed-use development, including office, residential, hotel, marina, and retail space, as well as parks and public places, across a half mile of redeveloped waterfront."
