Power-Flo Technologies Adds Auburn Armature to Growing Distribution Business

May 26, 2017
Power-Flo Technologies is an unusual collection of a dozen businesses including distributors, fabricators, manufacturers and motor and pump repair firms serving the New York and New England areas.

Auburn Armature Inc. (AAI), an Auburn, NY, electrical distributor, panel builder and service company, will become part of Power-Flo Technologies (PFT), New Hyde Park, NY, in an asset purchase agreement. AAI’s assets were bought by a Power-Flo subsidiary named AAI Acquisition. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Power-Flo Technologies is an unusual collection of a dozen businesses including distributors, fabricators, manufacturers and motor and pump repair firms serving the New York and New England areas. With subsidiaries including Aetna Electric, United Electric Power, Axis and Dittman & Greer, Power-Flo provides products ranging from commodity wiring devices and fittings to LED lighting products and more specialized items such as motors, computerized industrial controls, programmable controllers and custom panels. PFT has locations throughout the Northeast and, like AAI, is a full-line Siemens Technology distributor.

In the release, AAI said Jerry Dicunzolo, owner of Power-Flo Technologies, “has committed to retain most of all the AAI employees across its 6 locations in Upstate New York.” AAI has 119 employees at locations in Albany, Vestal, Cheektowaga, Rochester and Syracuse, NY, as well as its Auburn headquarters.

“The unique diversity of products, capabilities and services will enable PFT to bridge the needs of the electrical, institution, MRO and OEM markets, as well as the plumbing and mechanical trades,” Geoff Murphy, Auburn Armatures CEO, said in a press release. “I truly believe the acquisition and restructure provides the best outcome for all of AAI’s valued employees, while positioning the company to continue to grow its brand and market leader position in the upstate New York industrial, automation and electrical distribution markets.”

Auburn Armature has 119 employees, most of whom work at the company’s Auburn location, according to news coverage in news site Auburnpub.com.
