Sonepar Makes Acquisition in Netherlands

Sonepar Group, Paris, announced that it has added EMG van de Meerakker to its international distribution network, effective June 30, 2016.

Founded in 2007, EMG van de Meerakker is a specialized electrotechnical equipment wholesaler for industry and the machine and panel construction sectors. The company reported sales of €19.2 million in 2015, with 35 associates in 4 branches in Weert, Veghel, Barendrecht and Veenendaal.

EMG van de Meerakker will join Sonepar’s Van Egmond Group, one of its Dutch operating companies. With this acquisition added to its 2015 results, Van Egmond Group would have had sales of €69 million and 141 associates in 2015.
