IKEA VC group invests in Scottish LED manufacturer
IKEA GreenTech venture capital company has invested in Design LED Products Ltd, Livingston, Scotland, a manufacturer of LED lighting using “light tiles” – LEDs embedded into clear resins and films.
Home-furnishings giant IKEA, Leinden, Netherlands, said its IKEA GreenTech venture capital company has invested in Design LED Products Ltd, Livingston, Scotland, a manufacturer of LED lighting using “light tiles” – LEDs embedded into clear resins and films. The tiles are extremely thin, flexible and low cost and can be seamlessly joined together to create new designs, which will be added to IKEA’s retail offerings. The investment will enable Design LED to expand its business and to increase its offer of products that can be used in lighting designs for the home.
