R/B Sales Corp. Announces Plans to Purchase Precision Electrical Sales Co.

Independent rep R/B Sales Corp., Marion, Iowa, intends to purchase Precision Electrical Sales Co., Independence, Mo., in a transaction expected to be completed by Aug. 1. The acquisition expands R/B Sales Corp.’s geography to include Kansas and the western half of Missouri. Additional information will be shared with the marketplace as it becomes available.

Bill Devereaux, president, R/B Sales Corp., said in a press release, “We are excited about blending the best of both companies and bringing the best sales support we can provide to the Kansas/western Missouri market.

“Duane Basham, president, Precision Electrical Sales Co., will add 35 years of sales and market experience. Working with Duane through this process has shown me the potential opportunities in both markets we can realize by unifying our teams.”

Basham has owned Precision Electrical Sales Co. since March 2005. Founded in 1977, and purchased by Devereaux in 2005, R/B Sales Corp. has received numerous awards for customer service, sales growth, and end-user support from manufacturers, and the company was the subject of a 2006 EW cover story. Devereaux is currently chairman of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) and in 2007 won Electrical Wholesaling’s GEM Rising Star Award.
