Siemens opens Houston oil & gas headquarters

Siemens opened its new oil and gas headquarters in Houston earlier this week. Lisa Davis, a member of the Siemens Managing Board, said the company will serve the region’s oil and gas sector from what it calls the “energy capital of the world.” Davis, who leads Siemens’ oil and gas and power generation businesses, will be based in the Houston office.

“Our Houston location is critical for Siemens’ long-term growth as it brings us closer to upstream, midstream and downstream customers,” she said in the release. “Nearly 2,000 Siemens employees work in the Houston area, including more than 300 veterans, and we are pleased to be an active corporate citizen and technology provider to the city and the greater Houston community.”

Siemens’ technologies can be found in projects across the city, according to the release. Siemens provided Houston’s first light rail system, supplied building control systems at NRG Park and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, replaced over 10,000 traffic and pedestrian signals with LED technology, and led Houston’s Energy Efficiency Building Retrofit program involving 5.5 million square feet of facilities as well as upgrades to the city’s parks and sports fields.
