CED buys Electric Motor Sales & Supply in Tenn. and Ga.

Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. (CED), Irving, Texas, has finalized the acquisition of Electric Motor Sales and Supply Co. (EMS), with locations in Chattanooga and Cleveland, Tenn., and Cartersville and Dalton, Ga. Along with its focus on motor repair and sales, EMS sells electrical supplies, datacom and automation products, as well as supplies for the mechanical power transmission market.

The company was ranked #152 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2015 Top 200 listing. Its line card includes well-known vendors like ABB, Appleton, ASCO, Baldor, Burndy, Cooper, Cree, GE, Ideal, Lithonia, Littelfuse, Lutron, Mersen, Panduit, Pass & Seymour, Philips, RAB Lighting, Square D/Schneider, Thomas & Betts and 3M.
