Legrand Buys Power Solutions Provider

Legrand North America has acquired Girtz Industries, a provider of customized modular power solutions and technical services, to expand its presence in the growing data center and energy markets, adding nearly $80 million in revenue.

Legrand North America, West Hartford, CT,  acquired Girtz Industries, Monticello, IN, a provider of customized modular power integration solutions (Power Pods), as well as testing and technical services.
Customers that need back-up power or behind-the-meter primary power solutions, primarily in data centers but also across industrial, infrastructure and commercial applications are customers for Girtz’s products. The company employs approximately 300 people and generates annual revenue of nearly $80 million.
Benoît Coquart, Legrand’s CEO said in the press release, “Girtz Industries strengthens our position in the United States at the crossroad of two major trends: the unprecedented growth in power demand reshaping the energy landscape and the emergence of new data center architectures that require high-density, energy-efficient and increasingly decentralized power solutions.
“This acquisition is the sixth completed by Legrand since the beginning of the year, all focused on energy transition and data center opportunities, and together representing nearly €440 million (approximately $508 million) in additional annual revenue.”
