Paul Burton, training/development manager for Ideal Industries Inc., Sycamore, Ill., died at his home on Sept. 24. He was 58 years old.
Burton trained the majority of Ideal’s current sales force. He was instrumental in launching the company’s offsite merchandising seminar program that increased accessibility of merchandising training to a wider group of Ideal distributors. In addition, he helped organize Ideal’s annual national sales meetings.
Burton began his career with Ideal in 1990 when he was appointed Alabama sales manager after selling a successful lawn service business he founded. He was promoted to national sales trainer/development manager in 1997 and traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Great Britain.
A committed member of his local community in Birmingham, Ala., Burton served as a Boy Scout leader for seven years.
Burton is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah Martin Burton; his sons, Barry Burton of Los Gatos, Calif., and Brett (Havilah) Burton of Birmingham, Ala.
