Ernest Isenberg, retired president of Western Extralite Co., Kansas City, Mo., died Aug. 12. He was 81 years old. Isenberg immigrated to the United States in 1937. In 1949, he graduated from Stanford University with a degree in industrial engineering and joined his father in the family business. Isenberg retired in 1992, but he remained active in the electrical industry, seeking ways to improve its efficiency and reduce unnecessary government regulations. He was an active member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Electric League and the National Association of Electrical Distributors. He is survived by his wife, Vera; their children: John and Jenny Isenberg; Tom and Ann Isenberg; Walter and Christie Isenberg; Carol and Tom Barnett; and nine grandchildren.
