OneSource Distributors, LLC, Oceanside, Calif., is acquiring D&D Tool and Supply of Vista, Calif., a distributor of industrial, safety and tooling supplies with locations in Southern California and Tijuana, Mexico.

D&D Tool and Supply will continue under the same name as a division of OneSource. D&D has locations in Vista, Otay and Brea, California plus Tijuana, Mexico. Accounting and logistics operations will be consolidated while sales and service operations will continue under the leadership of Georgia Dutro, who will serve as president of the D&D Industrial Supply, Safety and Tool division reporting to Mike Smith, COO, and Bob Zamarripa, OneSource’ chairman and CEO.

One Source Distributors was ranked as the 28th largest distributor in the United States in Electrical Wholesaling’s Top 200 ranking with $250 million in 2009 sales, 285 employees and 14 locations.

D&D was founded in 1947 by Dollie Dutro, a former wing walker and stunt pilot, as D&sD Saw Works. According to information on the company’s website, “In the rapid growth period after World War II, Dollie ran routes to construction sites to pick up handsaws and blades for sharpening.”
The business grew from a sharpening facility to a full line distributor for MRO supplies and a custom tool manufacturer. The third generation of the Dutro family, owned and managed the company’s four facilities.

D&D Tool & Supply now manufactures custom metal and woodworking tools such as routers, shapers and saws for metal and aerospace applications and has a niche in providing government and military facilities with sharpening, custom tools and all MRO supplies.
