Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., has expanded in Massachusetts with the acquisition of certain assets of Pittsfield Electric Supply and Repair, Pittsfield, Mass., and Lowell Electric C&I, Lowell, Mass.
The two Massachusetts acquisitions will operate under the name of Granite City Electric Supply Co., and mark the 17th and 18th branch locations for the Quincy, Mass.-based company.
“We are excited about expanding our presence in New England and serving the Pittsfield and Lowell markets,” said Steve Helle, company president. “We will offer the same outstanding service packages that exist at our other locations. This includes overnight “Night Train” delivery and 24-hour emergency service.”
Chairman and CEO Phyllis Godwin added, “We continue our dedication to providing customers with quality services and a dependable local source of supply. Extensive breadth and depth of inventory has been a Granite City Electric trademark for our 81-year history.”
Servicing the commercial, residential and industrial markets since 1923, Granite City Electric Supply is a family-owned and operated electrical distributor. The company ranked number 77 on Electrical Wholesaling’s Top 200 this year.
The company now has 18 full-service locations throughout New England, including Pittsfield, Lowell, Quincy, Plymouth, South Yarmouth, Falmouth, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, New Bedford, Andover, Bellingham, Boston, Worcester and Leominster, Mass.; Bennington and Brattleboro, Vt; Keene, N.H.; and Warwick, R.I., as well as five retail lighting showrooms.
