Thomas & Betts and ABB Integration, Teerlinck named president of Werner Electric Supply

  Thomas & Betts and ABB make moves toward integration; Teerlinck named president of Werner Electric Supply; and more.

Thomas & Betts (Memphis): The integration of Thomas & Betts (T&B) and ABB’s low-voltage electrical products businesses continues with the announcement of key executive and structural changes designed to further enhance the company’s value propositions. Brian Herington was named local division manager, U.S. LP, with responsibility for leading the combined U.S. business of T&B and ABB’s low-loltage products local business units, breakers and switches, control products, enclosures and DIN-rail products. Herington will continue to serve as president of T&B’s U.S. and Latin America businesses. He will report to Chuck Treadway, CEO of T&B and ABB regional division manager of ABB low-voltage products in North America.

Additionally, the commercial integration of the two businesses continues. Effective Jan. 1, the ABB regional sales managers and sales and quotations teams started reporting to Ned Camuti, vice president for regional sales. Camuti will continue to serve as vice president of sales for T&B’s U.S. and Latin America electrical business.

Werner Electric Supply (Neenah, Wis.): Scott Teerlinck was named president of Werner Electric Supply of Wisconsin, effective Jan.1 He has 18 years of industry experience and will report to CEO Lynn MacDonald. Teerlinck came from Rockwell Automation where he held sales and management positions. Most recently, he was based in Singapore as the company’s regional director for Rockwell Southeast Asia Region. Teerlinck earned his MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his BS in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

MacDonald said in a press release announcing the hire, “I believe in Scott’s decision-making and his integrity — both of which are closely aligned with the culture of Werner Electric. This alignment will help to ensure the long-term continuity of Werner Electric in a manner consistent with our proud legacy. “In addition to his management skills, Scott’s international sales experience will benefit our interests and investments in EDGE.”

EDGE (Electrical Distribution Global Enterprise) is a partnership between distributors to build a network of distribution and automation company partners outside of North America. Werner Electric is one of the eleven founding members of the new venture.

Graybar Electric Co. (St. Louis): On Feb. 1, David Schwichtenberg will take over as was district V.P. in Richmond, Va. He replaces Thomas Gurganous, who will retire as district V.P. after more than 39 years with the company. Schwichtenberg is a 38-year veteran of Graybar. Throughout his career, he advanced through several sales and management positions at the branch and district level. He currently serves as director, electrical sales in the company’s Tampa district, a position he has held since 2006.

In other news at the company, Greg Hochheiser is now the company’s district V.P. in Dallas effective Jan. 1. He replaces Randy Harwood, who now serves as senior V.P. and CFO. Hochheiser is a 20-year veteran of Graybar. He started his career in 1992 as a truck driver in Greenville, S.C., and was promoted to area manager over three locations within North Carolina in 2000, and most recently moved to Washington, D.C., as a director of comm/data sales for the Richmond District, where he has worked since 2008.

ConEdison Solutions (Washington D.C.): This energy-services company (ESCO), has named Peter Keating federal programs manager, where he will manage the company’s relationships in Washington, D.C. through its Falls Church, Va., office. Before joining Con Edison Solutions, Keating worked for PS&S Global, where he managed programs that leveraged the economic and technical benefits of energy-savings performance contracts and power purchase agreements. He is a decorated combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps, with more than 25 years of distinguished service; holds a BA degree in history from Long Island University and a MS in management and logistics from the Naval Postgraduate School and another MS degree in national resource strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University.

Quanta Services, Inc. (Houston): Earl “Duke” Austin, Jr., is now chief operating officer and is overseeing Quanta’s domestic and international operations. Austin most recently held the title of president, Electric Power and Natural Gas and Pipeline Divisions, and has overseen power and pipeline operations since Jan. 2011. In 2009, he joined the Quanta executive team from the company’s North Houston Pole Line operating unit to oversee the company’s pipeline operations. He received a BA in business management with an emphasis in accounting from Sam Houston State University.

Allied Wire & Cable (Philadelphia): The company recently hired three new sales representatives for its Las Vegas and Tampa branches. Jeff Shelton and Charles Ballesteros are the newest additions to the company’s Las Vegas location, and Bob Bruno is now working at the Tampa facility.

Shelton comes to Allied from JCH Wire & Cable, where he worked with a wide range of products and industries. He also spent 11 years serving in the military as a member of the Alaska Air National Guard, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Army.

Ballesteros graduated from the College of Southern Nevada in 2011 with a degree in physics. He gained most of his wire and cable knowledge working as a maintenance and repair technician for cable, telephone, internet and security systems with Quality Communications.

Bruno has experience in the electronic component distribution industry, and has filled sales, marketing, and management roles at companies such as Arrow Electronics, Dove Electronics, and most recently with Nu Horizons Electronics.

New Horizon Lighting (Jackson, N.J.): Phil Leisure recently joined the company’s sales and marketing efforts, where he will be involved in national business development and the creation and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans. He joins the company after three years as an independent marketing consultant outside of the electrical industry, and from 22 years of marketing and direct sales with Cooper Electric Supply Co. (Sonepar) in New Jersey.

Crown Supply Co. Inc. (Providence, R.I.): Jim Cunningham is now commercial account manager and is calling on the company’s commercial accounts, as well as its general contractor and HVAC contractor customer base. Prior to joining Crown Supply Co., Inc., Cunningham was an outside sales manager for Floors to the Trade, and director of sales and marketing for the New England Appliance and Electronics Group, two companies based in Franklin, Mass.

Martin Electrical Sales (Kirkwood, Mo.): Dave Reeb has been promoted to V. P. of this rep firm in metropolitan St. Louis. Nancy Martin, company president, says Reeb’s “experience, leadership, CPMR training and his market knowledge is key to the continued growth of Martin Electrical Sales.”

MaxLite (West Caldwell, N.J.): Jeffrey Hirsch has been appointed to the newly created position of manager of the customer support group. Hirsch will report directly to Zenny Haczyk, director of global operations.
