LEDvance, Garching, Germany, named its new CEO. Jacob Tarn, a 30-year industry veteran with experience transforming companies, most recently at Samsung's LED lighting business, will take the helm Feb. 1, succeeding Jes Munk Hansen who stepped down in December. Interim CEO Rüdiger Tibbe, who served as interim CEO, will continue to be responsible for the operational execution of the company transformation as chief transformation officer at LEDvance.
Tarn will focus on accelerating the company’s transformation from a traditional lamps manufacturer to an industry-leading, innovation-driven full LED lighting company, said a LEDvance release.
“Jacob Tarn is an internationally renowned expert in the LED lighting industry, who has shown how to bring a business back on track," Tim Yun Chen, chairman of the LEDvance supervisory board, said in the release. "The Supervisory Board as well as the company owners are convinced that he is the ideal candidate to lead LEDvance into a successful new era. The Supervisory Board will provide him and his team its full backing and support.”
