Yokogawa Corp. expands production in Georgia facility
Automation and control manufacturer Yokogawa Corp. of America, Sugar Land, Texas, (subsidiary of Yokogawa of Japan) announced a sizable expansion of its North American production facilities with a multi-million dollar investment in its Newnan, Ga., plant just south of Atlanta.
Brad Byrum, North American vice president of sales and marketing, attributed the growth to the boom brought by shale gas and unconventional oil production and the accompanying growth of downstream chemical plant expansions. The company plans to increase headcount in North America by more than 1,000 by 2015.
