The Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) Design Competition announced the winners of the 2012 competition for outdoor fixtures. Four best-in-class winners were named, and a number of other technologies were recognized for their potential. The announcement was made at the Strategies in Light conference that wrapped up yesterday in Santa Clara, Calif.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, and the International Association of Lighting Designers, NGL was launched in 2008 to promote excellence in the design of energy-efficient LED luminaires for general illumination in commercial lighting applications.

OXFORD decorative acorn streetscape and walkway luminaire made by Relume Technologies
Evolve LED Scalable Cobrahead roadway fixture made by GE Lighting
TV and Dial LED decorative wall sconces made by Edge Lighting
