Legrand signed a definitive agreement to acquire Lastar Inc., including its Quiktron and C2G divisions. Quiktron, based in Albia, Iowa, makes copper and fiber-optic cable assemblies for the data communications distribution channel. C2G, Moraine, Ohio, makes cabling and connectivity products for the audio/video and information technology industries. The deal is expected to close in 30 to 60 days. Legrand said the Quiktron and C2G brands would strengthen its position and capabilities in the data communications and A/V channels while simultaneously providing Legrand access to new customer segments. Legrand said the datacom market is moving toward pre-terminated cable assemblies, and the acquisitions will give customers a broader array of custom and pre-terminated copper and fiber cable assemblies.
