IDEA’s Mary Shaw Elected to Board of ETIM International

Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA) (Arlington, VA): Mary Shaw, the data association's director of e-business standards, was elected to a three-year seat on the board of members of ETIM International. ETIM is an international organization that maintains a product classification model used worldwide in the electrotechnical, HVAC, sanitary, shipbuilding and general construction sectors.

An IDEA release said Shaw is looking forward to applying her three decades of experience in standardization to a fresh perspective on the needs of the new ETIM markets in North America.

“It is an enormous honor to be elected,” said Shaw. “This is a unique opportunity to leverage both my experience and perspective to serve the needs of expanding standards markets in North America.”

Paul Molitor, CEO and president of IDEA, agreed that Shaw’s appointment is significant. “It’s not often you get a chance to capture a governance seat on a global standards committee,” he said.
