General Cable Corp., Highland Heights, Ky., announced it has acquired Prestolite Wire LLC, . A well-established, privately-owned manufacturer, Prestolite, through its two manufacturing facilities in the United States and Mexico, offers a broad range of wire and cable products and harnesses, mostly for automotive OEMs and their "tier one" suppliers. In 2011, Prestolite reported revenues of $170 million. Greg Ulewicz, president of Prestolite, will remain with General Cable and continue to run the Prestolite Wire business. Details.
