Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): Mike Busch was recently hired as V.P. of human resources. He has human resources experience with Whirlpool Corp. and Eaton Corp. and most recently was with HR Value Partners, working with small to midsize businesses on recruiting and talent management challenges. Busch will lead BSE’s human resources team to support growth and drive continuous improvement. He has also been appointed to the company’s executive council.
Universal Lighting Technologies (Nashville): Wheeler Pulliam has joined the Universal sales team as the new V.P. of sales for the Central region. In his new position, Pulliam will preside over both distribution and OEM channels within the central territory. He will develop, facilitate and optimize the sales strategy for Universal’s LED fixtures and comprehensive lighting products and will provide support to agents, distributors and end users in the region. Four regional sales managers are reporting to him. Pulliam will be based in Dallas, where he will report directly to Joe Damiani, executive V.P, sales and marketing. The 15-year industry veteran has Six Sigma certification and prior to his lighting experience was a captain in the U.S. Army.
WESCO Distribution, Inc. (Pittsburgh): Mary Ann Bell is now V.P., investor relations, replacing Dan Brailler, a long-time employee who left the company to pursue a new opportunity.
ESS Lighting (Holbrook, Mass.): Miriam Andrews from ESS Lighting won the 2015 Louis A. Baynes Most Supportive Vendor Award from Baynes Electric Supply at the distributor’s annual trade show on Nantucket Island, Mass. “Miriam has done a fantastic job building customer relationships, sourcing new business and servicing projects on our behalf this year. This was an internal vote and a slam dunk,” said Chris Baynes, president of Baynes Electric Supply. ESS is a division of Electrical Systems Solutions, one of New England’s largest electrical manufacturers’ representatives, representing Pass & Seymour, LSI, JESCO and other manufacturers.
Baynes Electric Supply has locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. Baynes Electric Supply is ranked #186 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2015 Top 200 Ranking, with $22 million in 2014 sales, 50 employees and seven locations.
Electric Association of Chicago (Chicago): The association recently announced its 2015 Gold Medal Membership Award recipients and will formerly present the awards on Oct. 15. Winning the Gold Medal Award was Jim Paplacyzk, a long-time member of the board of directors. Hall of Fame inductees are Jim Fink, regional V.P. of sales for the Central region, Juno Lighting; Richard Jamerson, co-president Jamerson & Bauwens Electrical Contractors; Stefan Lopata, president/COO, Kelso-Burnett Co.; and Paul McCool, president and CEO, Revere Electric Supply.
