Electrical People: Van Brocklin Now President and COO at 3E in Iowa

3E promotes two execs to new roles.

Electrical Engineering & Equipment Co. (3E), (Windsor Heights, Iowa):  Company veteran Steve Van Brocklin is now president and COO. Van Brocklin, who has been with for 21 years, was previously senior vice president of sales and marketing, a position he has held since 2006. He joined 3E in 1994 to help start and manage their first branch location in Waterloo, Iowa. Van Brocklin’s other positions over his career at Electrical Engineering & Equipment Co. have been vice president of branch operations and vice president of sales.

In other news at 3E, 21-year company veteran Mike Ahlrichs has been promoted to vice president, industrial sales and will continue to oversee and coordinate the growth strategy and direction of 3E’s industrial, OEM, data-comm (ITS), and automation departments.

The 95-year-old 3E is a full-line electrical distributor with additional expertise in electrical apparatus repair, custom fabrication and generator sales and service. The company has 15 locations throughout Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, western Illinois and northern Missouri. 3E’s customer base includes electric contractors, industrial plants, commercial entities, institutional facilities, OEMs, panel shops, integrators, utilities, and government agencies.

Border State Electric (Fargo, N.D.): Tom Isenberg will retire from Border States Electric (BSE) June 19. Isenberg was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Haverford College and Harvard Business School. He began his career at Western Extralite Co. in 1979 and became president in 1992. From 1992 to 2014, Western Extralite opened eight new branch locations, completed four acquisitions, and entered new markets — datacomm and national accounts lighting. Isenberg and his brother, John Isenberg, owned Western Extralite Co., a third-generation family business, before they sold to BSE in Oct. 2014. Isenberg has been nominated to serve on the BSE board of directors and will join the board in August 2015.

Omni Cable (West Chester, Pa.): Dave Santoro was recently promoted to Western Regional vice president. In his new role, Santoro is responsible for Omni Cable’s Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco locations and working closely with the company’s regional managers in those facilities. Santoro has been with Omni Cable since 2011. Prior to accepting the position as the Western regional vice president, he was the regional manager of Omni Cable’s Chicago branch.

Electric Supply Center (ESC) (Burlington, Mass.):  Kristofer Harding has been promoted to assistant branch manager at the company’s Gloucester, Mass., branch, where he will continue to strengthen customer relationships, manage the day-to-day operations for the branch, and continue to help build Electric Supply Center’s presence in the Gloucester area. Harding previously worked in counter sales at Electric Supply Center’s  Wakefield branch. He began working with Electric Supply Center in June 2012, where he performed several warehouse roles, including driver, receiving, and shipping. Prior to joining Electric Supply Center, Harding worked in warehouse operations.

In other news at Electric Supply Center, the company recently announced the hires of Michele Sebastiao as a project manager in its lighting department and Ken Hackett as an outside sales account Manager. Both employees will operate out of ESC’s headquarters.

As a project manager in Electric Supply Center’s Lighting Department, Sebastiao will estimate and manage large lighting projects; at furnish accurate and timely estimates to electrical contractors throughout New England; and generate lighting quotes; and vendor and customer communication. She has eight years of project management experience and an extensive background in interior design and lighting consulting. Sebastiao graduated from Endicott College with a degree in Interior Design.

Hackett is a sales veteran with 25 years of experience in the electrical wholesaling industry, all with the same organization. Initially working in inside sales and warehouse capacities, he was ultimately promoted to the positions of account manager, and then senior account manager.

ILSCO (Cincinnati):  Taylor Beiser has been hired as a product data analyst. He is a recent graduate of Northern Kentucky University, with a B.S. in computer information technology and will be involved with the day-to-day data management for the ILSCO and UTILCO brands of electrical connectors. He will report to Meghan Moore who will supervise his efforts.

DuraGuard Products Inc. (Tampa, Fla.): Jennifer Morris Younk has joined the team as sales administrator.  She years of  lighting industry experience, most recently serving as senior accounts manager – national distribution for Hatch Lighting, where she managed manufacturers’ representatives, programs for electrical distributors and trained customer service personnel.

In her new assignment, she will assist DuraGuard’s management and outside sales team to provide the highest level of customer service and administration.  She will be responsible for sales order entry, price requests, tracking information, inventory checks, correspondence with the company’s sales reps and various administrative duties.
