Mejia named VP of performance excellence at EGS Electrical Group, NEMA names new board, and more.

EGS Electrical Group (Rosemont, Ill.): Ricardo Mejia has been promoted to V.P. of performance excellence and will report directly to EGS CEO Eric Meyer. He began his career at Emerson Electric in May 1999 as an operations planner with the company’s Hermetic Motor Division in St. Louis and in Jan. 2002 became the Lean Champion for the Hermetic facility in Reynosa, Mexico, and progressed to positions of increasing responsibility within Hermetic/Emerson to include materials manager, division lean champion and director of quality. Mejia holds a BS in industrial engineering from The University of Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia and an MBA from The University of Notre Dame.

Lumen/Sonepar Canada (Mississauga, Ontario): Serge Leblanc, the company’s former V.P. of marketing, has been appointed president, succeeding François Anquetil. Leblanc has 20 years of experience in the electrical industry, including 10 years with Lumen. After 10 years with Crouse-Hinds, he joined Lumen in 1997 and was promoted to V.P. of sales and marketing in 2002.

National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) (Rosslyn, Va.): NEMA announced the officers of its 2012 Board of Governors at its recent annual meeting. They are Dominic Pileggi, chairman and CEO, Thomas & Betts Corp., chairman; John Selldorff, chairman and CEO, Legrand North America, first vice-chairman; Christopher Curtis, president and CEO, Schneider Electric, second vice chairman; Thomas Gross, vice chairman and COO, Eaton Corp., treasurer; and David FitzGibbon, vice Cchairman and CEO, ILSCO Corp., immediate past chairman.

Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures (Belding, Mich): The company has appointed Chris Wood to an inside sales position. Wood has several years of industrial sales experience and a BA from Grand Valley State University.

Griffith Electric Supply Co. (Trenton, N.J.): Crystal Simmons has been promoted to V.P.–operations. Simmons started her career with Griffith Electric in 1990 as an order picker, moving to inventory, counter sales, counter manager, and most recently to warehouse manager. In addition to her current responsibilities, She will now assist all of Griffith’s locations with their operational issues. Ron Kaczmarek has been named branch manager of Griffith Electric’s newest branch in Langhorne, Pa. Kaczmarek has been with Griffith for over two years, working in the project department. He is a 40-year veteran of the electrical industry with a wide range of experience in distribution and construction. Jim Carson joined Griffith Electric in July as an inside sales/counter representative at Griffith’s newest branch in Langhorne, Pa. He has over 25 years of electrical experience working for Arnold Electric.

FireLite Alarms/Honeywell, (Northford, Conn.): Steve McCurdy has been appointed national sales manager and will be responsible for the support and growth of U.S. wholesalers’ fire alarm systems business. Prior to joining Fire-Lite Alarms he worked in a similar national sales position for Leviton. He holds a BS of science and electrical engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island.
