Group CBS Wins Distribution Exclusive for IntelliSAW Switchgear Monitoring System

July 25, 2014
Group CBS and its network of electrical distributors and field sales companies will be responsible for selling and integrating the IntelliSAW systems into new and existing switchgear, including repair and life-extension projects.

Group CBS, Inc., Addison, Texas, entered into an exclusive master distributor agreement for the United States with IntelliSAW, a provider of wireless temperature, humidity and soon-to-be-released partial discharge (PD) monitoring systems for all power applications.

Under the agreement, Group CBS and its network of electrical distributors and field sales companies will be responsible for selling and integrating the IntelliSAW systems into new and existing switchgear, including repair and life-extension projects, throughout the U.S.

IntelliSAW has a proprietary wireless condition monitoring solution for electrical switchgear and related equipment that utilizes Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) sensor technology that does not require any external power supply, easing installation and system commissioning without adding to arcing and flashover concerns. These smart grid wireless temperature and humidity monitoring solutions use standard industrial Ethernet variants and native RS485 data protocols such as Modbus to provide instantaneous monitoring and control to remote monitoring stations.
