Phillip Alexander Joins American Fluorescent

Lighting industry veteran Phillip Alexander has joined American Fluorescent, Waukegan, Ill., as director of light commercial sales.

Lighting industry veteran Phillip Alexander has joined American Fluorescent, Waukegan, Ill., as director of light commercial sales. Alexander will lead and implement American Fluorescent’s launch into the light commercial market and oversee its current OEM and hospitality divisions. Phillip joins American Fluorescent with a long list of industry credentials, having been in the lighting fixtures market for more than 30 years. From 1985-89 Alexander was president and CEO of decorative lighting giant Progress Lighting. He was also president and CEO of Seattle Lighting Fixture Co., a distributor of retail, commercial, and builder lighting products and in 1999 a founder of a new concept lighting distributorship appropriately called “Alexanders’ Contractor Lighting.” He built the company from ground zero into a multi-million dollar operation. Most recently from 1999 to 2002 he worked for Forecast Lighting where he was VP and general manager.
