W.W. Grainger Inc., Chicago, said its Canadian unit has acquired the assets of Granby, Quebec-based Excel Industriel, a distributor of maintenance, repair and operating supplies.
Grainger said it expects an incremental contribution of about $11 million from the deal over the next 12 months. The Granby branches of Grainger’s Acklands Grainger unit and Excel will be merged.
“We are very excited about joining forces with Excel,” said Court D. Carruthers, president of Acklands - Grainger. “They are a leading player in the eastern townships of Quebec and have a long history of excellent customer service.”
