NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI) for current North American conditions jumped nearly 12 points to 53.3 points in August, topping the key 50-point growth mark.
Having risen from a cyclical low of eight points over the last nine months, the EBCI Index, a monthly survey of electrical manufacturers published by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Rosslyn, Va., now stands at its highest level since late 2008. The EBCI index for other region’s of the world increased, too. Latin America enjoyed the biggest gains, jumping 10.4 points for current conditions and 7.8 points for future conditions.
