Equity Electrical Associates Inc., East Walpole, Mass., presented the following awards at its annual conference April 15-18 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Chicago.
Vendor awards, which measure overall supplier performance and distributor satisfaction, were divided into five separate categories and were distributed as follows:
• Merchandise Award — Ideal Industries, Sycamore, Ill.; Fluke Electronics Corp., Everett, Wash.
• Product Award — RAB, Northvale, N.J.; Intermatic, Spring Grove, Ill.
• Administration Award — Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass.; Southwire, Carrollton, Ga.
• Delivery Award — Osram Sylvania Danvers, Mass.; Bridgeport Fittings Bridgeport, Conn.
• Marketing Award — Arlington Industries, Scranton, Pa.; Cooper Wiring Devices, Long Island, N.Y.
The recipient of Equity’s Lifetime Achievement Award was Don Brody, vice president of sales and marketing for Hubbell Electrical Products, Fort Wayne, Ind. The Equity Sales Champion Award went to Dale Kinney of E-Tel Sales Inc., Houston.
In addition, Equity presented the James Hennessy Award of Excellence to one supplier and one member for the year 2003. Osram Sylvania was recognized for the “best overall supplier performance,” and Diversified Supply of Chattanooga, Tenn., was honored as “most supportive member overall.”
Other top Equity performers were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the organization in terms of sales growth and support. Those who were awarded the “Circle of Excellence” demonstrated the highest overall sales growth through Equity, along with supporting the greatest number of Equity Associated Suppliers.
• Circle of Excellence recipients were: Capital Wholesale Lighting & Electrical, Culver City, Calif.; Capital Wholesale of South Bay, Lawndale, Calif.; Duncan Electric Supply, West Bountiful, Utah; Electric Supply of Carlsbad, Carlsbad, N.M.; Gilkey Electric Supply, Hattiesburg, Miss.; Lewis Electric Supply, Muscle Shoals, Ala.; Maloney Electric Supply, Schaumburg, Ill.; TriArc Electric Supply, Tacoma, Wash.
