NESCO-Needham Electric Supply, Canton, Mass., has acquired Gettens Electric Supply Co. Inc.
Founded in 1928, Gettens is a family-owned and operated, full-service electrical distributor in Massachusetts with counter and warehouse operations in Fitchburg (20,000 sq. ft) and Greenfield (10,000 sq. ft), along with lighting showrooms in Leominster (3,000 sq. ft.) and Greenfield (4,000 sq. ft.). Gettens Electric Supply will continue to operate under its name as "A Division of NESCO, Needham Electric Supply."
"We are very excited to have Gettens Electric Supply join the NESCO family and look forward to working with the associates to expand and strengthen our presence in Western Mass," said Gregory Wilson, president of NESCO. "Gettens has a long-standing reputation for focusing on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. He said NESCO’s customers would benefit from the personal service and culture of a family-owned business and from the resources of a much larger organization.
In the past two years, NESCO has more than tripled its number of locations through both organic growth and acquisitions. Acquisitions included Walsh Electric Supply in Rutland, Vt., in October 2008; Norwell Electric Supply in Norwell, Mass., in November 2007, and Yankee Electric Supply in Vermont and New Hampshire in June 2007. The company opened new branches in North Attleboro, Mass., in August 2007 and Brockton, Mass., in May 2007.
