The site for NEMRA’s 39th Annual Conference has been moved to Orlando, Fla., from San Diego. Dates for the 2009 Conference at the Orlando World Center remain the same, March 17-22.
According to an announcement from the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) Tarrytown, N.Y., “As the result of recent changes to building and fire codes in the City of San Diego, the San Diego Marriott, our original location, was unable to fulfill NEMRA’s required exhibit space requirements.”
According to NEMRA President Henry P. Bergson, “NEMRA had worked diligently to keep the Conference on the West Coast, but other hotels were unable to offer us adequate meeting and sleeping room space on such short notice. While we’re sorry to miss an opportunity to visit the beautiful City of San Diego, we’re pleased that we were able to secure another warm weather location for the 2009 Conference.”
In making the announcement of the change of venue, Bergson noted that the Marriott Orlando World Center was not able to offer rooms or suites for the night of March 17. As a result, “When making travel arrangements, attendees should plan on arriving on Wednesday, March 18, 2009.”
Bergson said NEMRA has made some changes to the 2009 NEMRA Conference format. These changes include new 20-minute ‘mini’ one-on-one sessions, a revised event format and more.”
More detailed conference information and online conference and hotel registration will be available on the NEMRA web site (www.nemra.org) in October, and be included as part of the NEMRA Hot Wire newsletter.
