Horizon Solutions LLC, Rochester, N.Y., acquired Lighting Resource Management (LRM), an energy services company (ESCO) based out of Newburyport, Mass.

Horizon Solutions is a distributor of electrical and industrial products and services with nine branches in the Northeast. The company ranks as the nation’s 67th largest electrical distributor, according to Electrical Wholesaling’s Top 200 Electrical Distributors listing.

LRM was founded in 1996 by Rob Quintal. Under Quintal’s leadership, LRM has completed over 200 lighting upgrade projects across the Northeast, including projects for some of the most recognized companies and institutions in the country. The company provides service to industrial, commercial and government facilities looking to upgrade their lighting systems, improve energy efficiency and take advantage of the incentives and rebates available to companies that upgrade to the latest lighting technology. Quintal has an extensive knowledge of lighting systems, local and national energy savings incentives and project management skills. He is being retained by Horizon Solutions to lead Horizon’s newly formed Lighting & Energy Services Division.

Horizon Solutions was formed in 2000 when Holmes Distributors Inc., Portland, Maine; Oakes Electric, Holyoke, Mass., and RERO Distribution Companies Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., merged.

According to Lighting Resource Management’s Web site, “The lighting energy management services provided by Lighting Resource Management over the last 12 years is an excellent fit with Horizon’ focus and plan, not only to continue to develop opportunities in eastern Massachusetts, but to add resources to expand these services to existing and new customers in New York and New England markets.”
