Pentair Inc., Golden Valley, Minn., said it would acquire several thermal management businesses of APW Ltd., including McLean Midwest, Electronic Solutions, and Aspen Motion Technologies Inc.

The acquisition would strengthen Hoffman Enclosures, which is part of the Pentair Enclosures Group, by adding thermal management solutions for manufacturing, packaging, material handling, processing, data communications, networking, and electrical industries to Pentair’s Enclosures Group, the company said.

Hoffman and McLean have been previously affiliated through a private labeling supply agreement. McLean designs and manufactures air conditioning, cooling, and other thermal management products for electrical and electronic equipment. The integration of these technologies and systems into Hoffman’s enclosure product offerings will expand Hoffman’s product offering in a variety of markets where thermal management has become a critical issue.
