HD Supply Electrical, a division of HD Supply, has officially opened a distribution center in Orlando.

The 300,000-square-foot center will serve the company’s 25 Florida branches. The facility offers radio frequency inventory management, direct shipment options, rush capabilities and 24-hour customer service seven days a week. Along with the opening of the new distribution center, HD Supply is expanding its wire inventory and capabilities to include wire cutting equipment and services.

The new distribution center is co-located with an HD Supply Plumbing/HVAC branch at the center, which employs 325 people. HD Supply Electrical is part of HD Supply, which serves electricians and contractors in other trades in the infrastructure, construction, maintenance, repair and remodel markets.

“In this challenging market, our customers are always looking for ways to shorten cycle time and get projects done as efficiently and timely as possible,” said Steve Ferry, vice president of HD Supply Electrical’s Florida region. “With our new distribution center in Orlando, we now have trucks rolling every night to make sure customers get exactly what they need, when they need it.”

Home Depot Inc. is selling its HD Supply wholesale business to Clayton Dubilier & Rice Inc., Bain Capital LLC and Carlyle Group for $10.3 billion. The deal is expected to close by the end of October.
