Springfield Electric Supply Co. (Springfield, Ill.): Don Harrod has been appointed to the newly created position of Energy Management Solutions–Team Leader. He has 25 years’ experience in the electrical industry in both distribution and manufacturing, with the last seven years as territory sales manager for GE’s Lighting Division. His primary function will be to develop a sales and marketing strategy to provide energy management solutions to end users.
GE Energy (Atlanta):Ronnie Hawkins has been named V.P. of business development for GE Energy, where he will be responsible for identifying inorganic growth opportunities for the $38 billion Energy business and leading a global group of 50 professionals focused on all aspects of business development from deal origination to transaction execution. Hawkins joined GE in 2009 as general manager–business development for the Energy business. Prior to GE, Hawkins was an investment banker covering the broad energy sector. Hawkins earned a dual B.A. degree in economics and Latin American studies from UCLA.
Atkore International (Harvey, Ill.): Effective June 1, John Williamson was named president and CEO. He replaces Nelda Connors, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Williamson joins Atkore from ITT Corp. where he held various senior management positions. Prior to his time with ITT, Williamson spent 17 years with Danaher Corp., including a role as senior V.P.–global operations for the Fluke Division. Other senior management changes are as follows.
Ed Kurasz was appointed president of the Pipe, Tube and Conduit Division. Most recently, he was global V.P.–Pipe and Tube Division. Kurasz has been with the company for more than 20 years in various sales and marketing positions.
Bob Pereira is now president for the Cable Division with responsibility for pre-wired armored and metal-clad electrical cable, sold under the brand names of AFC Cable Systems and Kaf-Tech. Pereira has been with the company for 26 years and has served in a number of key management roles. Most recently, he was V.P.–AFC Cable division.
Steve Elsdon is now president of the North America Cable Management Systems Division with responsibility for managing metal framing and cable tray systems sold under the brand names Unistrut, PowerStrut and TJ Cope. Elsdon has more than 15 years of experience in the electrical industry. Most recently he was responsible for sales and marketing at Columbia-MBF.
Roger Vaught is now V.P. for the Conduit and Fittings product lines with responsibility for managing metal, aluminum and PVC conduit and associated fittings sold under the brands of Allied Tube & Conduit in the U.S. and Mexico as well as Columbia–MBF in Canada. Vaught has more than 30 years’ experience within the electrical industry, holding positions in national account, marketing and sales management.
Luminus Devices Inc. (Billerica, Mass.): Charles Jerabek, recently retired vice chairman of Osram Sylvania, was appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): Tony Serati is now purchasing manager. Serati joined BSE in 2003 and has held various positions including inventory planner, alliance inventory coordinator, and strategic services team supervisor.
