NEMA Current Conditions Index Slips Into Contraction Territory in September

The current conditions index slipped to 46.4 points in September 2018, its first time since September 2016 below 50.

The NEMA Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions slipped to 46.4 points in September 2018, the first time since September 2016 that the current conditions component dipped below 50. With the exception of a one-month blip in June, the current conditions measure has been generally trending down since February of this year.
