Electrical People: Richardson to lead supplier collaboration for Summit

Also new promotions and new hires at Leviton, Border States, Barron Lighting, Soraa, NLB and IEWC.

Barron Lighting Group (Glendale, Ariz.): Two lighting industry veterans have joined the company. Joy Moyer is the new V.P. of brand development and Michael Goldberg is the new Northeast regional V.P. Moyer is responsible for product management and engineering for the company’s  four brands and brings more than 20 years of brand management experience in the electrical industry, 13 of which she spent in the lighting market with Hubbell Lighting and Juno Lighting.

Goldberg has more than 19 years in the lighting industry and was most recently the national sales manager at Sunshine Lighting. Prior to that post, he worked at Civilight Lighting, LumenOptix, Juno Lighting and Progress Lighting. He has a degree in business economics from the State University College at Oneonta and will be based out of New York.

Soraa (Fremont, Calif): Todd Antes was appointed senior V.P. of marketing. He will report directly to CEO Jeff Parker and work closely with the sales and product development teams.  Antes was most recently V.P. at Qualcomm, where he managed the strategy, product roadmap and go-to-market activities for the company’s Networking, and Connected Home/Office/IoT products.

Prior to Qualcomm, Antes was the V.P. of marketing at Atheros Communications. Additionally, he has held several executive marketing leadership positions at small startups through large, public technology companies—including Philips and AirPrime (acquired by Sierra Wireless).

National Lighting Bureau (Shepherdstown, W. Va.): David Errigo, vice president of sales for luminaire manufacturer LumenOptix, has been elected vice chair of the National Lighting Bureau (NLB) board of directors. He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Mark Lien, who left NLB sponsor Osram Sylvania to become industry-relations manager for the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).

Errigo joined LumenOptix in 2005, moving on to fill various positions in the company’s sales and marketing departments, supporting LumenOptix’s regional sales team and independent manufacturer’s representatives across the country. He was named LumenOptix’s vice president of sales in 2015. Errigo earned both a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts and a master of business administration degree from Rider University.

Summit Electric Supply (Albuquerque, N.M.):  Mike Richardson has joined the company team as V.P. of supplier collaboration, a new position at the company. He will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Victor Jury Jr. and be based out of Summit’s Houston, Texas, office.

Richardson’s past executive posts in the electrical industry include vice president of sales and business development for Irby/Sonepar USA; president of an electrical distributor in Houston; and director of material management and planning for WESCO Distribution. He also directed purchasing and supply chain performance for a Texas supplier. Richardson has a MBA in operations management science and a finance degree from the University of North Texas, and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Leviton Manufacturing Co. (Melville, N.Y.): Ian Wilkie has been appointed to managing director of the company’s Brand-Rex business unit, a data networking solutions provider, effective immediately.   Martin Hanchard is stepping down as CEO of Brand Rex, but will serve in an advisory capacity until June 30.

Wilkie has been with Brand-Rex for more than 15 years, holding several senior management positions, including his most recent role as commercial director. He has served as a board member since 2008. Prior to Brand-Rex, Wilkie held several divisional and corporate leadership roles at BICC, including export sales director. Brand-Rex, which manufactures a wide range of high-performance specialty cables for military, underground and extreme environment applications and is part of Leviton’s Network Solutions group, was acquired by Leviton in Dec. 2015.

Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.):  Mark Christopher was promoted to branch manager in Minot, N.D., and Cody Morris is now branch manager of BSE’s Rapid City, S.D., location. Christopher joined BSE in 2011 as a quotations representative in Grand Fork, N.D., was promoted to branch manager at that location, and then moved to Williston as branch manager. He added Watford City, N.D., to his duty roster in Aug. 2015. Christopher  continue to serve Williston and Watford City in addition to Minot. He joined BSE in 2004, worked in the warehouse and city desk, and has been a customer service representative and account manager. In addition to serving Rapid City, Morris will continue to serve as branch manager in Gillette, Wyo., a position he was promoted to in 2013.

IEWC (New Berlin, Wis.):  Mike Veum has joined IEWC as OEM North America Division president. He comes to IEWC from Brady Corp. where he served as V.P. He has also held positions in sales, acquisitions, integration and strategy development and was V.P. and general manager for North America. He has a business degree from Marquette and joined the company on April 25, reporting to Jim Wojan, IEWC’s COO.
