Electrical People: Jeffries named president of Summit Electric Supply

Jeffries has worked in the electrical distribution industry for nearly 25 years running various sized businesses from $10 million to over $800 million in annual sales, and he most recently managed the global sales and operations of an integrated supply group for a multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 distributor.

Summit Electric Supply (Albuquerque, N.M.): Paul Jeffries is now president and COO, a new position within the company. He was previously a group vice president and general manager for a publicly-traded international distributor. Jeffries will report to Victor Jury, Jr., chairman and CEO, and be based out of Summit’s Houston, Texas, offices. He will be responsible for aligning Summit’s vision with solutions that drive growth and market share across the company.

Jeffries has worked in the electrical distribution industry for nearly 25 years running various sized businesses from $10 million to over $800 million in annual sales, and he most recently managed the global sales and operations of an integrated supply group for a multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 distributor.  He has an MBA from the Air Force Institute of Technology as well as a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and a bachelor’s in engineering sciences from the United States Air Force Academy. He also served as a Captain in the United States Air Force.

Orgatech Omegalux Architectural Lighting (Azusa, Calif.): George Bosson,  a 26-year lighting industry veteran, product inventor and sales and marketing executive, has been appointed company president. He has worked for lighting companies such as elliptipar, Lam Lighting and, most recently, Amerillum Brands. Bosson has a BA in legal studies from the University of Massachusetts and a MA in organizational development at Fairfield University.

Hammond Manufacturing (Guelph, Ontario): Andreas Sobotta is now V.P. of North American sales and marketing. He has held senior roles in the electrical/controls worlds for many years. Most recently he held the role of national sales manager with Davis Controls. Sobotta has also held Canadian-based roles as V.P. of marketing with Festo, business unit manager with Siemens and general manager/director of sales and marketing at Phoenix Contact.

Group CBS Inc. (Addison, Texas): Bill Teets, a 15-year-veteran of the electrical industry in the Southeast, is now general manager of Circuit Breaker Sales & Service Inc. (CBS&S), Lakeland, Fla. The company’s long-time general manager, Cristy Crews, has become a company principal and will assume the role of vice president of sales for CBS&S. The company says it will be hiring over the next year at the Lakeland facility to serve Florida and the Southeast U.S.

Bridgeport Fittings (Stratford, Conn.): Rick Taylor was promoted to marketing and strategic accounts V.P. Formerly the director of marketing, Taylor will continue to assume overall responsibility for marketing initiatives while shifting key responsibilities to other resources and assume the new responsibility for a focused effort on key distributor partners.

Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): Leif Bratlien was recently promoted to branch manager.  He joined BSE in 2004 and was account manager in Albuquerque, N.M., prior to this promotion. Bratlien manage the day-to-day operations and sales for the Greeley branch. In other BSE news, Shane McMenamy is now area manager. He joined the company in 2003 and was the branch manager of Nashville and Clarksville prior to this promotion. As area manager he is responsible for the Tennessee area, which includes the Nashville, Hendersonville, Lebanon, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Cookeville and Jackson branches.

Shambaugh & Son/EMCOR (Fort Wayne, Ind.): Paul Meyers, Jr., has been named CEO, succeeding Mark Shambaugh, who has retired. In his 23-year career with the company, Meyers has managed many of Shambaugh & Son’s milestone construction projects and has played a key role in managing its significant growth to an organization of nearly 2,000 employees that works with many Fortune 500 companies. Shambaugh & Son is a subsidiary of the publicly held EMCOR Group, a diversified contracting firm that offers HVAC/mechanical, electrical construction and other building services, industrial and energy infrastructure, and building services for a diverse range of businesses.
