ABB to Close Florida Plant and Shift Production to North Carolina

ABB is planning to invest up to $39.9 million over the next year to build a 200,000 square foot expansion and upgrade machinery at the Mebane plant.

ABB announced moves to optimize and expand its electrification business in the United States to meet growing demand for medium-voltage products and systems. ABB will expand its Mebane, NC, facility and will discontinue production at its Lake Mary, FL unit. The move is part of ABB’s integration of the former General Electric Industrial Solutions (GEIS) business.
