High-tech distributor Shingle & Gibb Automation, Moorestown, NJ, announced the acquisition of KOM Automation of Amherst, NY.
KOM Automation, founded in 1950, is an industrial distributor of high-tech factory automation components and solutions serving Upstate New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania markets. These markets join Shingle & Gibb’s established presence in Moorestown and East Hanover, NJ, Richmond, VA, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
This transaction presents an opportunity for Shingle & Gibb to strengthen and expand their geographical reach and provide KOM’s customers with a broader product offering, additional engineering expertise and investment in more local inventory, said a Shingle & Gibb press release. Shingle & Gibb’s focus includes industrial automation and networking, motion control, machine safety and power transmission products.
The two organizations share multiple attributes including a focus on similar product lines, including Banner Engineering and Turck.
